More than any other day of the week, Wednesday, to me, is the most in need of a battle cry. Think of running a race: at the beginning, you’re pumped and ready to go. At the end, you’re super excited to be done and sprint to the finish. In the middle, though, is where it’s hardest to get motivated to keep going.
Wake Me Up by Avicii is my “get up and go” song today because, not only do the lyrics exemplify a lot of what I’ve been going through lately, but the beat of this song instantly transports me to a place where I’m in a sea of people simultaneously bouncing up and down in time to the music. This is for all you mid-to-late twenty-somethings (and beyond!) out there who are still trying to figure it all out just like me. There are days when we just can’t get up. There are days when we feel like all is lost.
And there are days when we stand up and fight.
This is our battle cry for the day. Stand up, take a second to take in the lyrics, and sing your heart out with me- out loud, in action, or however suits you best.
